In a major counter-terror operation, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested eight suspected terror operatives in Ahmedabad.
According to preliminary information, the suspects were allegedly linked to a terror network and were taken into custody following a coordinated operation by the ATS. Authorities are interrogating the accused to determine the nature of their activities, possible associates, and whether they had links to any larger extremist network.
The arrests are being viewed as a significant breakthrough in ongoing efforts to prevent potential security threats in the state. Investigators are also examining digital devices, documents, and other evidence seized during the operation.

2. Ibrahim Mohammad Husen Ghagha @ Abu Hamza (30 years) – r/o Bhagal, Palanpur, Banaskantha
3. Mudassir Abdullah Ghaziwala @ Abu Aya (22 years) – r/o Bhagal, Palanpur, Banaskantha
4. Zakariya Durani Mohammad Ammar Ghagha @ Ibn Ammar @ Zakariya Palanpuri (21 years) – r/o Jamia Abul Hasan Madrasa, Khadiyasana, Siddhpur, Patan
5. Mufti Faujan Ismail Dauwa @ Mufti Sahab (40 years) – Jamia Abul Hasan Madrasa, Khadiyasana, Siddhpur, Patan
6. Mohammad Amin Shera @ Amin Palanpuri (21 years) – Jamia Abul Hasan Madrasa, Khadiyasana, Siddhpur, Patan
7. Mohammad Abdul Rahman Savdi @ Mohammad Palanpuri @ Abu Unisa (22 years) – Jamia Rahmaniya Khambhiya, Ambheta, Chikhli, Navsari
8. Bilal Durani Mohammad Ammar Ghagha @ Abu Dujana @ Abu Sufiyan @ Abu Zundal @ Umar bin Khattab (18 years) – Warsi Nagar, Dewas, Madhya Pradesh.
Case has been registered against all 8 accused at ATS P.S. vide Cr.No. 05/2026 dated 02-07-2026 under sections 13, 17, 18, 38, 39 of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act 1967 and section 148, 61 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023.
Further details are expected to be revealed by the Gujarat ATS as the investigation progresses.
