Ahmedabad: Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi inaugurated the newly constructed Regional Transport Office (RTO) at Subhash Bridge, Ahmedabad, marking a significant step toward delivering faster, transparent, and technology-driven public services.
Speaking at the inauguration, Harsh Sanghvi said the Gujarat Government is committed to providing citizens with efficient, transparent, and digitally enabled services. The new RTO office has been designed to simplify access to a wide range of transport-related services, including driving licences, vehicle registrations, permits, fitness certificates, and tax-related work.

A key highlight of the facility is the Automated Driving Test Track, which will ensure complete transparency in the driving licence issuance process. Sanghvi emphasized that only genuinely qualified applicants will receive driving licences, strengthening road safety and eliminating manual intervention.
He also stressed the importance of coordination between public representatives and government officials to ensure that government schemes and services reach every citizen, particularly those in remote and underserved areas.

Appealing to citizens, the Deputy Chief Minister urged everyone to help keep the new RTO office clean, well-maintained, and organized, stating that protecting public infrastructure is a shared civic responsibility.
Developed by the Ports and Transport Department, Government of Gujarat, the modern RTO office at Subhash Bridge, Ahmedabad is equipped with advanced infrastructure and citizen-friendly facilities. Separate service counters have been established for non-transport and transport vehicle services, new vehicle registration, permits, vehicle fitness, blacklist-related services, driving licences, challans, RMA services, AMC tax payments, and cash transactions, ensuring smooth, efficient, and transparent service delivery under one roof.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by State Minister for Urban Development Darshanaben Vaghela, Hitesh Barot, Member of Parliament Dinesh Makwana, city BJP president Prerak Shah, several MLAs, senior officials including Principal Secretary Harit Shukla, Transport Commissioner Rajendrakumar, along with department officials and local residents.
