Ahmedabad: Students at Gujarat University on Wednesday staged a protest in support of the ongoing student demonstrations in Delhi, demanding accountability over the issues affecting students and calling for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
The protest was held at Gujarat University as students expressed solidarity with those participating in the demonstrations in the national capital.
According to information shared from the protest site, police detained more than 100 students at the Gujarat University Police Station. Reports indicated that the detention process was still continuing, with hundreds of students reportedly being taken into custody.
The Ahmedabad protest comes amid growing student demonstrations across the country over allegations surrounding examination irregularities and demands for reforms in the education system.
