Elections for 3 Rajya Sabha seats of Gujarat on 8th August
Elections for 3 RS Rajya Sabha seats of Gujarat will be held on 8th August for members whose term completes on 18th August.
3 RS members Ahmed Patel (Congress) ,Smriti Irani (BJP) and Dilip Pandya (BJP) would be in fray.
3 members of Gujarat and 6 members of West Bengal are retiring on 18th August. On completion of their term 3 RS members of Gujarat state, elections will be held on 8th August.
Election Commission to issue notification about election schedule on 21st July. Last date for filing nomination will be 28th July and deadline to withdraw nomination will be 31st July.
Election on 8th August for 1 post which had fallen vacant after death of Anil Dave of Madhya Pradesh.
6 retiring RS members of West Bengal RS includes Sitaram Yechuri of CPM and Derek Obram of NCP.
