Ahmedabad, 26 July 2026: Narayan Seva Sansthan (NSS), in collaboration with its CSR partner, Ingersoll Rand, organised a Mega Free Disability Screening, Surgical Assessment, and 3D-Printed Narayan Modular Artificial Limb Measurement Camp at Gujarat University, Navrangpura, on Sunday.
The camp witnessed the participation of more than 450 persons with disabilities. A team of specialist doctors and prosthetists and orthotists (P&O) conducted assessments and took measurements for 327 beneficiaries for custom-fitted Narayan Modular Artificial Limbs (prosthetic arms and legs), developed using advanced Japanese and German technology.
The camp was inaugurated with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by social workers Ramila Ben T. Patel, Jogendra Pratap Singh, Vallabhbhai Dhanani, Chandrakantbhai Patel, Kiritbhai Shah, Pushpa Ben Rathore, Ashutoshbhai Pandit, Vivek Patel, Sheetal Patel, and Jagdish Chechani, along with other distinguished guests. The dignitaries toured the camp, interacted with the beneficiaries, and received detailed information from the medical experts about the treatment, rehabilitation, and prosthetic fitting process.
Speaking on the occasion, Ramila Ben T. Patel said that serving persons with disabilities is the truest form of serving humanity. She appreciated Narayan Seva Sansthan for its decades-long commitment to the holistic development and empowerment of persons with disabilities and said that such humanitarian initiatives deserve continued support from society.
Prashant Agarwal, President of Narayan Seva Sansthan, said that more than 450 persons with disabilities were registered at the camp. Following medical examinations by specialist doctors and the Prosthetics & Orthotics (P&O) team, measurements were taken for 327 beneficiaries for Narayan Modular Artificial Limbs. In addition, measurements were also taken for calipers, while 33 beneficiaries were selected for free corrective surgeries.
Mahesh Agarwal, President of Narayan Seva Sansthan’s Mumbai Chapter, urged persons with disabilities to remain confident, never give up in the face of challenges, and strive towards self-reliance. He said that the Sansthan is committed to empowering persons with disabilities through physical, social, economic, and intellectual rehabilitation, enabling them to lead lives of dignity and independence.
Bhagwan Prasad Gaur, Head of Public Relations; Hari Prasad Laddha, Camp In-charge; Achal Singh Bhati, Surat In-charge; and Kailash Chaudhary, Ahmedabad In-charge, welcomed the guests in accordance with the traditional hospitality of Mewar. During the event, the guests were also briefed about Narayan Seva Sansthan’s free service initiatives, including corrective surgeries for persons with disabilities, artificial limb distribution, daily meals for over 5,000 needy individuals, the Narayan Children’s Academy, which provides free education to children from economically weaker families, self-employment training programmes, and mass marriage ceremonies.
Founded in 1985, Narayan Seva Sansthan has been dedicated to serving persons with disabilities for over four decades. Its founder, Padma Shri Kailash Manav, was honoured with the Padma Shri by the President of India for his distinguished contribution to social service. Prashant Agarwal, President of Narayan Seva Sansthan, received the President’s Award in 2023 for his outstanding contribution to the empowerment of persons with disabilities. To date, Narayan Seva Sansthan has provided more than 40,200 free artificial limbs to beneficiaries in India and abroad and has delivered free surgeries and medical services to over 454,081 persons with disabilities.
