Due to heavy rainfall in the upstream areas, the water flow in the Bhogavo River at Vanitalav village in Dholera taluka has been steadily rising. As a result, the village has been cut off from surrounding areas and is now facing an island-like situation.
Taking the seriousness of the situation into account, the Ahmedabad Rural Police have responded immediately by deploying local police officers and personnel to the affected location. The district police are coordinating with the District Administration and the NDRF to evacuate residents stranded in the village to safer locations. Rescue operations are being carried out on a war footing, while the entire operation is being continuously monitored to ensure a quick response in case of any emergency.
Meanwhile, floodwaters from the Bhogavo River have also overflowed onto the approach roads leading towards Anandpur and Buranpur villages. Police have closed the affected roads and deployed necessary security arrangements. Continuous patrolling and monitoring are being carried out to prevent anyone from attempting to cross dangerous waterlogged areas.
The Ahmedabad Rural Police have appealed to citizens to avoid using closed roads, not to enter rivers or flooded areas, rely only on official information, and strictly follow the instructions issued by the police and district administration.
