In another important student-focused decision, the Gujarat State School Textbook Board has decided to provide free replacement textbooks to students whose books were damaged or destroyed due to flooding and waterlogging in their homes or schools.
The decision has been taken under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, with the guidance of Education Minister Dr. Pradyuman Vaja and Minister of State for Education Rivaba Jadeja.
Students studying in government and grant-in-aid schools in rain-affected areas will be covered under the initiative. District Education Officers and District Primary Education Officers have been directed to collect accurate details of damaged textbooks and submit them to the Textbook Board at the earliest.
Once the demand details are received, special arrangements will be made to quickly supply replacement textbooks free of cost to affected schools.
Parents and students in rain-affected areas have been assured that they do not need to worry about damaged textbooks. Students whose books have been damaged are advised to contact their respective schools immediately so that the required details can be collected and new textbooks can be provided.
