87 Callipers to be provided to 64 beneficiaries; free fitting of prosthetic limbs developed using Japanese German technology
3 September 2026 Ahmedabad: Narayan Seva Sansthan, Udaipur, in association with CSR partner Ingersoll Rand, will organise a special prosthetic limb fitting camp on September 6 at Atal Kalam Campus Lane, Gujarat University, Navrangpura, Ahmedabad. At the camp, 271 persons with disabilities will receive 291 Narayan Modular Artificial Limbs, while 64 beneficiaries will be provided 87 callipers free of cost. The prosthetic limbs, developed using Japanese-German technology, will be fitted by a team of experts.
The camp will be held from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with the formal inauguration scheduled for 11:00 AM. The beneficiaries were selected during the free Narayan Limb Measurement Camp organised in Ahmedabad on July 26.
Narayan Seva Sansthan’s Media and Public Relations Head Bhagwan Prasad Gaur said that beneficiaries will also receive training in walking, maintaining balance and using the prosthetic limbs comfortably after the fitting. He said the Narayan Modular Limbs, developed using modern technology, are lightweight, convenient and can be adjusted according to individual requirements.
Gaur said the Sansthan’s objective is not merely to provide prosthetic limbs, but to help persons with disabilities move towards an independent and dignified life. The organisation is continuously conducting such camps across different parts of the country to help reduce the physical challenges arising from accidents, illness or congenital disabilities through modern technology and sustained support.
He added that the camp, being organised under the guidance of Sansthan President Prashant Agarwal, is part of the organisation’s ongoing service initiative to make technologically advanced prosthetic limbs accessible to persons with disabilities in need. With the support of CSR partners, philanthropists and donors, the Sansthan is working to enable more people with disabilities to lead independent lives.
Ahmedabad Ashram In-charge Kailash Chaudhary said that free food, seating arrangements and first-aid facilities will be available for beneficiaries and their accompanying family members. He said prosthetic limb fitting is not limited to restoring mobility; it is also an important step towards rebuilding an individual’s confidence, self-esteem and independence.
Narayan Seva Sansthan has been engaged in social service since 1985. Its founder, Padma Shri Kailash ‘Manav’, has been honoured with the Padma Shri by the President of India for his exceptional contribution to social service. Sansthan President Prashant Agarwal was honoured with the President’s Award in 2023 for his outstanding contribution to the empowerment of persons with disabilities.
According to the Sansthan, more than 40,200 persons with disabilities have so far received prosthetic limbs free of cost, while over 4.54 lakh persons with disabilities have received free medical treatment in India and abroad. Guided by the spirit of “Nara Seva Hi Narayan Seva”—service to humanity is service to the divine—the camp is another step towards helping persons with disabilities move towards greater confidence, dignity and self-reliance.
