Gandhinagar, September 25, 2026: The electoral battle for the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation (GMC) has entered a crucial phase with the Congress announcing its first list of 19 candidates for the upcoming civic elections.
The names have been released for five wards — Ward 1, Ward 3, Ward 8, Ward 9 and Ward 10 — as political parties step up preparations ahead of the nomination deadline.
The GMC election will cover 11 wards with a total of 44 seats. According to the announced schedule, voting will be held on October 11, 2026, while counting of votes is scheduled for October 13.
