On Friday, BJP MP Kirit Solanki in Ahmedabad at Press Conference at Circuit House, Shahibaug clarified that Ahmedabad will not be renamed as Karnavati now.
Giving reasons Solanki said that for name change of any city it has to be approved in both the houses of Parliament. BJP is unable to do so.
However, BJP has been talk of naming Ahmedabad as Karnavati during political campaigns.
Ahmedabad Nagarpalika has sent proposal to rename Ahmedabad to the center.
