Bollywood’s Ace music composer and singer Aadesh Shrivastava breathed his last at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital early on Saturday morning. The 49-year-old Srivatsava, was first diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2010 and underwent successful treatment. However, in August 2015 Srivastava faced relapse that he couldn’t pull out of.
Adesh Shrivastava who is popularly known for his compositions in films like ‘Baghban’ and ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’, is said to have got his first break as a music composer with Bappi Lahiri in 1990 with Madhuri Dixit starrer ‘Sailaab’. The same year he turned playback singer with the song Ali Baba for Amitabh Bachchan starrer ‘Agneepath’. After a few forgettable films, Shrivastava bounced back in 1996 with the chart buster, ‘Kya Ada Kya Jalwe Tere Paro’ from the film Shastra, and went on to deliver hit song ‘Sona Sona’ from ‘Major Saab’ in 1998. Over the years Shrivastava followed up with popular releases like Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Chalte Chalte’, and more recently Prakash Jha’s ‘Rajneeti’.
On the other hand, Aadesh Shrivastava was also known for his collaborations with international artistes like T-Pain, Soulja Boy, Wyclef Jean, Norah Jones, Queen Latifa and Shakira. The composer even recorded the track ‘One For the World’, with American R&B superstar Akon. Shrivastava is survived by his wife, singer and former actress Vijeta Pandit and his two sons Anivesh and Avitesh.Last rites of Aadesh Shrivastava will be performed today at 12:30 in Oshiwara crematorium.
