On November 25, in Ahmedabad, a press conference was inaugurated by Elaben Bhatt – Founder, SEWA on “Building an Economy of Nurturance” at AMA.
Ms. Jayshree Vyas, Managing Director, Shri Mahila Sewa Sahkari Bank Ltd and Ms. Vijayalakshmi Das CEO, Friends of Women’s World Banking FWWB India also preceded over the conference.
Speaking at the conference appreciating success of PM Jan Dhan Yojna Ms Vyas said that even now our women are capable of banking anywhere. We are working towards bring them to main stream. The women, who was coming for banking of Rs 500 is now able to get Rs 8 lakhs so we are seeing results of women banking.
Founder member of SEWA Ahmedabad Elaben said Banking is a continuous relationship of trust. Earlier, we had depositors coming even from Lambha, now we have a separate branch. I am disturbed with the present situation in country.
I do not want to elaborate on that anyway. People have to go to uncharted areas where forestation can be made more profitable, harvesting could be made more profitable, even recycling industry could be made more profitable. more production could be achieved with no gaps. We should decentralized those services as close to local.
Women need sustainability and stability in the surrounding and community. That is what is our concern.
It is time for us to think that how our finance moves further.
