Today in Gomtipur area near Mariambibi Masjid incident of clash between two groups took place in Ahmedabad city. In a trivial matter, two groups confronted each other where Sector-2 Joint Commisioner, Crime Branch and Gomtipur Police had to rush to spot to control the situation. Six persons were injured in group clash, they were taken to LG Hospital. 10 to 15 persons were arrested. Top Police officials rushed to the spot. Angry people damaged 2 to 3 auto rickshaws, 2 Tata Sumos and a Tavera car. Incident of stone throwing on houses and shops were reported.
Reason in Gomtipur group clash is said to be that in there are 3 to 4 liquor and gambling den in the area. People after consuming Desi liquor do nuisance near Gomtipur Circle. There was a fight between two drunk people at gambling den and in the process food stuff of a muslim family who had a social function at home got spoiled and the situation got aggravated.
