Ahmedabad, Gujarat: The Ahmedabad City Police has shifted into full action mode to ensure tight security and peaceful conduct of elections across the city. Extensive arrangements have been put in place under the supervision of Police Commissioner G.S. Malik, who addressed the media and outlined the preparedness strategy.
Speaking to reporters, Malik emphasized that maintaining law and order remains the top priority, with special focus on sensitive and high-risk polling areas. He confirmed that adequate police force, including reserve units and quick response teams, has been deployed strategically throughout Ahmedabad.
To prevent any untoward incidents, the police have intensified:
- Area patrolling and route marches
- Checking drives at key entry and exit points
- Surveillance through CCTV and control rooms
- Monitoring of anti-social elements
The Commissioner further stated that coordination with election authorities has been strengthened to ensure seamless execution of polling processes. Special teams have also been assigned to handle emergency situations and respond swiftly to any complaints during the election period.
Authorities have urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and report any suspicious activity immediately. “Our aim is to ensure that every voter can exercise their democratic right without fear,” Malik said.
With robust planning and visible police presence, Ahmedabad is set to witness secure and incident-free elections, reinforcing confidence in the electoral system.
