From Yesterday morning at 8:45 hours at Jagannath Temple in Ahmedabad, with mark of Jal Yatra ceremonial celebrations for the 137th rathyatra has started. Devotees, carrying kalash on their heads and accompanied by elephants, joined the procession to the Sabarmati Riverfront before returning to the temple.
Procession throughout the city of Lord Jagannath along with elder brother Balaram and their sister go to their maternal uncle’s place in Saraspur temple on this day. Since then the darshan is closed till the day of Rathyatra which is on June 29 this year. Ahmedabad Mayor Meenaxi Patel also joined the procession
