Ahmedabad: Vivekanandnagar vegetable market turns into muddy place; no support from AMC

In Ahmedabad, in Vivekanandnagar of Hathijan Ramol ward of AMC Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has been deprived of amenities for long. In a village with 12,000 to 15,000 people in Ramleela Maindan near water tank AMTS bus stop and vegetable market are close to each other. For last 2 months, due to breakage in water line of drinking water, thousands of gallons of water gets wasted and get deposited there. More over due to rainy season it becomes muddy which spread menace of mosquito borne diseases. For past 20 to 25 days it was putrifying bad. Amidst such unhealthy atmosphere vegetable vendors have to sit for selling their vegetabls and make daily earning. Kids coming with buyers also get victimsed of diseases, as per sources.

Vendors have started level of land around market by calling private JCB in absence of support from AMC authorties.For past 25 years Vivekanandmagar is part of AMC jurisdiction, still it does not have any PHC Primary Health Centre.
