Ahmedabad’s Little Champ Dhyana Patel wins Gold in Russia in World Schools Chess Championship 2016

Today on December 19, 2016  Dhyana Patel is a Gold Medal winner in Russia ( Sochi) from World Schools Chess Championship 2016 International Chess competition during  December 2 to 12, 2016.

Dhyana a student of Nirma Vidyavihar a Wiz Kid and Litle Champ of Chess has participated in1 International, 10 National level and 104 State level Chess tournaments.chess-champion-dhyana-patel1

Dhyana started her Chess career at very young age of 6. As far as her accolades are concerned She won Silver Medal at 12th Asian Chess Championship in Iran and became WCM Women Candidate Master title winner of FIDE World Chess Federation. She also claimed Silver Medal in 62nd School Game 2016 (under 14) category organized by SGFI School Game Federation of India. Also winner of Bronze Medal in 60th School Game 2015 (under 14) held by SGFI.chess-champion-dhyana-patel2

At state level, she become winner of jaydeepsinhji Junior Award in Gujarat and represented Gujarat Wome team in Odisha. She stood 5th in Chattisgadh (under 11) and 6th in Gujarat (under 13).chess-champion-dhyana-patel3

She is 3 times winner at Khel Mahakumbh annual sports meet organized by Gujarat government. She is a selected player of Center of excellence by Gujarat government.chess-champion-dhyana-patel4

Dhyana gave wonder performance while playing in  various categories starting from Under 7 till Under13 and have rised upto International level with a Gold Medal bringing proud for self, for her state and nation.

Dhayana got break through Gujarat State Chess Association in Ahmedabad. She is a good Kathak dancer too. She was inspired to play Chess by her brother. She will play next in Nagpur.

 

Talking about Chess championship at Russia, “it was very tough and challenging” admitted Dhayana.
