Ambaji’s ₹1,632 Crore Master Plan plan announced by the Government of Gujarat to transform Ambaji, a revered Shakti Peetha, into a model temple town via the development of a transformative Shakti Corridor. ₹1,632 crore budget approved to be executed in two phases.
Phase 1 (₹950 crore): Construction of the main Shakti Corridor, development of Gabbar Arrival Plaza with light-and-sound features, and key infrastructure such as Divya Darshan Plaza, Sati Ghat improvements, and expansion of Chachar Chowk.
Phase 2 (₹682 crore): Further development around Gabbar Temple, Mansarovar, Sati Sarovar zone, including new plazas, event grounds, Garba spaces, and ropeway/circumambulation enhancements on Gabbar Hill.

The corridor will link Ambaji Temple to Gabbar Hill, believed to mark the site where Goddess Sati’s heart fell. The Plan includes immersive galleries, mythological murals, interactive pathways, public plazas, pedestrian underpasses, eco‑friendly walkways, and state‑of‑the‑art amenities for pilgrims.

It also has multi-level parking, Yatri accommodations, signage, lighting, landscaping, MEP and sanitation systems, and cultural exhibition areas. Execution will be overseen by the Gujarat Pavitra Yatradham Vikas Board (GPYVB) under the state’s tourism department. Work on Phase 1 is expected to begin soon and span a period of around 30 months (~2.5 years) from the work order, accounting for monsoon and temple festival periods. Demolition of encroachments and structural clearance has already started (including over 79 unauthorized structures and about 89 houses in Rabariwas) to clear way for the corridor’s infrastructure.
