Today, Gujarat ATS (anti-terrorist squad) arrested drug mafia Virendra Patel alias Sonu King in connection with supply of mephedrone (MD) drugs in Ahmedabad. ATS seized 91.230 grams of MD drugs from drug dealer. This racket had a connection with arrests made from a hotel on Ashram road.
As per sources, drug dealer had some 150 customers in Western Ahmedabad. One gram of MD drugs was sold betwen Rs 3000 to 5000. It is purchased at some Rs 1500 per gram and sold at 2-3 times of original price.
Gyasuddin Sheikh, MLA, Gujarat Congress blamed that Police was turning blind eye on this dealing as they were given handsome amount as a Hapta. ATS Gujarat has done a humanitarian job by preventing youth from consuming such harmful drugs.
The Drug dealer was bringing drug in Patwa Sheri Ahmedabad. So some more big names in drugs racket are likely to get exposed. It is expected to have connection of this drug racket reaching upto Mumbai.
