Ahmedabad: The counting of votes for 23 wards at the LD Engineering counting centre has shown a strong performance by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), securing a clear majority.
Out of the total results declared so far, BJP has won 78 seats, while the Indian National Congress (Congress) has secured 14 seats.
Ward-wise Highlights:
BJP registered victories in key areas including Thaltej, Bodakdev, Saijpur Bogha, Asarwa, Paldi, Shahibaug, Sardarnagar, Navrangpura, Vastral, India Colony, Vasna, Naroda, Shahpur, Lambha, Indrapuri, Thakkarnagar, Ramol-Hathijan and others.
Multi-seat wins were recorded in Bapunagar (3 seats) and Saraspur (3 seats).
Congress managed wins in limited wards such as Dariyapur, Behrampura, Khadia, along with one seat each in Bapunagar and Saraspur.
The results indicate a strong lead for BJP across Ahmedabad, with the party dominating the majority of wards, while Congress trails significantly.
Further counting updates are awaited, but early trends clearly favor BJP in the city’s local body elections.
