Botad’s Madhusudan Dairy Directors violate By-Laws for corruption blame Manhar Patel of Gujarat Congress

Today Gujarat Congress spokesman Manhar Patel has made allegation on Botad’s Madhusudan Dairy for Corruption and Violation of By-Laws.

Botad’s Madhusudan Dairy is being accused of corruption by District’s Cooperative Societies. Botad Milk Producers’ Cooperative Society Ltd. more than 20 Milk Producer Cooperative Societies in Botad district have demanded Country’s and State’s Cooperation Minister to remove the Board of Directors of Madhusudan Dairy from the power.

Serious allegations worth crores of rupees have been made against the Chairman and MD Managing Director of Dairy, including the members of the board of directors

 1. Vice Chairman of Madhusudan Dairy, his Wife and Daughter-In-Law, are running the society with 3 members of the same family, which is against the By-Laws and Rules of the cooperative society

2. Another Director himself runs 3 Milk Producer Societies and also do Milk Business. According to the By-Laws of the society, a Director cannot do Business.

3. All the Milk Federation of Gujarat buy milk per Kilo fat whereas Madhusudan Dairy buys milk in voulme (litre) fat due to which there is a 3% Surplus of milk and Madhusudan Dairy which earns them a hefty profit of 30 kg per thousand liters. If we calculate the price of Rs. 50 per litre against the daily milk income of Madhusudan Dairy, then the Milk Federation loses Rs. 1,87,500 per day, which is not happening in any Federation in state.

4. Madhusudan Dairy sends more than 3 crore litres of milk to the Federation every year. From this, it gets a price difference of approximately Rs. 2 per litre, which is worth Rs. 50 to 60 crores per year. This price difference has to be paid to the Milk Producers’ Cooperative Societies, but Madhusudan Dairy has not paid a single penny for this.

5. Madhusudan Dairy pays Rs 50 to 70 per kg of Fat less than neighboring Dairies. If we calculate 6,250 kg of Fat milk per day, it comes to Rs 3,75,000 per day and Rs 13,68,75,000 per year and in 10 years this figure comes to more than Rs 136 crores. Only the Milk Producers’ Cooperative Societies have the right on this amount. But by not paying crores of rupees to them, Madhusudan Dairy has exploited the members financially.

6. In Madhusudan Dairy, Milk Federations are not made members.

7. It has been alleged that there is huge corruption in Madhusudan Dairy in Recruitment of Employees, Procurement, Transportation, Awarding Security Contracts, Assiging Water Tanker Contracts, Construction and Fat weight reduction.

8. Most of the Directors of the Madhusudan Dairy Board of Directors own more than 1 Milk Producing Society. They Trade in Milk Business and Pack and Sell it in different Brands of Milk. All the Directors have no interest in the growth of Madhusudan Dairy, in Strengthening the Milk Producing Societies or in ensuring that Milk Producers get Adequate and Affordable prices. They are only interested in running their own Milk Business under the name of the Cooperative Sector and with the blessings of  government.
