Britannia Industries’ 1st Exports Manufacturing Facility in India at Mundra SEZ in Gujarat

Britannia Industries Ltd. (BIL), India’s leading Food Company is launching a manufacturing facility in Mundra, Gujaratto augment the company’s global manufacturing footprint.

The facility in Mundra is Britannia’s first move towards setting up a solely Exports focused operation in India. With a sizeable investment of Rs 155 Cr and an area of 80, 904 sq.meters, the state-of-the-art facility is fitted with world class infrastructure and imported technology. The facility has a total workforce of 800 personnel.

Currently, the facility has an annual production capacity of 28000 MT and includes 3product lines. The equipment for the cream biscuits and the rusk lines have been imported from USA and France respectively.

The facility has been designed and executed to be compliant with global standards and International accreditations such as USFDA, HALAL, BRC and FSSC 22K. The manufacturing systems have been designed to ensure meticulous maintenance of standards and proper monitoring of materials and processes to ensure quality of products befitting packaged food standards of all thecountries, the products are being exported to.

The Britannia products will be exported to international markets like North America, UK, 48 African countries, GCC, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia.

The Company chose Mundra as the location for its first Exports facility, for the port’s many advantages and infrastructure. The Mundra Port is a deep draft, all-weather port with a high degree of mechanization. Strategically situated on international maritime routes, Mundra Port on the Gulf of Kachchh offers multiple benefits for global trade.
