Ahmedabad: CBI court in Ahmedabad, Kriti Kumar R Saha, Kamlesh D. Rao, Mahendra C. Wakharia and Bhupendra Manilal Wakharia have convicted five private persons in a bank fraud case and have been sentenced to 3 years rigorous imprisonment (RI) and Rs 50000.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered an immediate case against Salim Salauddin Shaikh, Ramesh Bhaisabh and others as the accused tried to cheat Bank of India by making fake DD cash of Rs 45 lakh. During the course of investigation, it was found that a total of 19 fake DDs were Rs. Each DD of Rs 9 lakh was prepared, out of 19, 12 of the 19 DDs were made or shones of Rs 1.08 crore.
After completion of the investigation, the CBI on 10.09.2004 accused Salauddin Shaikh, Kriti Kumar R. Saha, Kamlesh D. Rao, Mahendra C. Wakharia, Bhupendra Manilal Wakharia and Naseerullah Afzal Sheikh (term expired during trial and, therefore, the case against him was dismissed) filed charges against him.
After the trial, the Hon’ble Court convicted and sentenced all the five accused.
