Central Bureau of Investigation has named former Telecom Minister Dayanidhi Maran, Kalanidhi Maran and others as accused in its chargesheet in Aircel Maxis deal. CBI has also named four companies including Sun Direct TV Pvt Ltd as accused in the case.
Aircel Maxis controversy is linked with infamous 2G spectrum scam case when Apex court asked CBI to investigate Dayanidhi Maran, the telecom minister before A Raja. As a result Maran had to resign from the cabinet in April 2011.
