Today in an important announcement for Gujarat Farmers at a Cabinet meeting held in gandhagar, Agriculture Minister of Gujarat, RC Faldu has stated that compensation to the farmers without insurance would also be considered under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana PMFBY. The meeting was chaired by Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel along with Agriculture minister and state officials from Agriculture and administration of Gujarat government.
In a very effective and quick implementation plan for Gujarat Farmers assessement /survey by Insurance Company on crop damage / failure to be completed within 10 days. The decision was taken in wake of Cyclonic Storm Maha effect in Gujarat and a very positive step taken by Gujarat government for the sake of benefit of Gujarat Farmers. Four Insurance Companies have been given necessary instructions added Minister Faldu. Staff of Agriculture department has started conducting survey in affected region of the cyclone.
This year Gujarat state has received 144 % rain is a good sign for agriculture but some crop was spoiled due to unseasonal rain said minister.
However, Gujarat Congress MLA Hardik Patel has given memorandum of stern action after meeting traders of Rajkot Yard today and sought for immediate compensation within 7 days to affected farmers.
