Congress condemned police lathicharge on traders of Surat

Today Gujarat Congress leaders including Gujarat Congress President Bharatsinh Solanki and Congress veteran Shankersinh Vaghela sharply reacted on the incident took place in morning in Surat of police lathicharge  on Textile traders on Ring Road in textile markets who were protesting against GST implementation effective from 1st July by government.

President Bharatsinh said BJP government has brought GST, against which traders and businessmen are angry. They are trying to express their issues are beaten. Police is biased to government and should be free from politics.

Shankersinh said tax slab upto 28 % to 35 % would put additional tax burden on small traders. Government has not done proper homework before its implementation and beaten traders who were peacefully raising their concern. During Congress rule in 2004 to 2009 regime by removing of Cenvat small textile traders were given relief, which again they will be marred by a burden of GST. Government should understand concern of small textile traders, people involved in embroidery business.
