Delhi rape case: Uber cab driver was arrested, earlier spent 7 months in prison in 2011

Once again Capital city Delhi in news for rape case. The 32-year-old cabbie, who allegedly raped an executive on Friday night.

In a shocking piece of information which could put the San Francisco-based startup Uber taxi company in a tight spot, it has been revelaed that the cabbie had earlier been jailed too in a sexual assault case.

Uber taxi drivere was arrested yesterday in his home town Mathura, is a repeat offender, it was revealed during his initial interrogation by the police. He spent 7 months in jail in rape case which was filed against him in south Delhi’s Mehrauli area in 2011.

“He claims that he was later acquitted in the case. We are verifying these claims,” said a police authorities.Accused will be produced before a local court on Monday and his police custody will be sought for further investigation.
