Former Gujarat Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel passes away at 92

Today Former Chief Minister of Gujarat Keshubhai Patel passes away at the age of 92 years. In the morning he was taken to hospital this morning after having difficulty breathing where he breathed last at Sterling hospital in Ahmedabad . Doctors at the hospital declared him dead after breathing problem.

Keshubhai recovered from Coronavirus but Died of heart attack.

He was born on 24 July 1928 in Junagadh at Visavadar.In 1945 he joined as RSS canvasser. In 1975 during Emergency he went to jail.

He was minister of Construction department in 1977 and Agriculture minister in Babubhai Patel in 1978. His death has sent shocking waves among Gujarat politics. On 14th march 1995, for the first time he become Gujarat CM with victory of 121 seats. BJP came to power with victory by Keshubhai Patel. Twice he become CM of Gujarat. In his political career worked from Jansangh to BJP Bharatiya Janta Party. Twice he was elected at MLA in Gujarat Assembly during 1980 and 1985.

He was concerned about Gujarat farmers. He gave record 14 hours of electricity to Gujarat farmers during his tenure. On 1st May 1998 launched Gujarat government’s website.

Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani gave tribute to Keshubhai and appreciated his efforts for the party in Gujarat. CM Rupani will curtail his political campaign tour except Gadhda meeting.

PM Narendra Modi arriving tomorrow to Gujarat may visit Gandhinagar in place of Kevadiya Colony to pay tribute to Keshubhai Patel.

PM Modi gave tribute to Keshubhai Patel through his tweeter.

He was very physically active at 92 and could defeat Coronavirus.

Apart from Gujarat politics , he significantly worked for Somnath temple trust as a Chairman.

Keshubhai’s dead body will be kept for Darshan at 2;30 pm in gandhinagar at his residence.

Today at 3 pm, as per protocol he will be given tribute by Cabinet ministers in Gandhinagar. Keshubhai will be cremated at 5 pm in Gandhinagar at his residence.
