Gujarat Administrative Service (GAS) cadre officer, which occurred in Gandhinagar–Ahmedabad.
The officer has been identified as Mansukh Popat Pujara (57), a Class-I GAS cadre officer posted in the Finance Department at the Gujarat Secretariat (Sachivalaya), Gandhinagar.
He died by suicide in his government quarters in Vastrapur, Ahmedabad on Thursday morning, September 4, 2025 (reported on September 5) after being discovered by his driver.
The driver, arriving for the usual pick-up, found the door open and discovered Pujara hanging in the drawing room.
A suicide note was recovered. Parts of it were typed or printed, while others were handwritten. It addressed his family and included instructions regarding important documents and persons to contact.
His wife predeceased him several years ago. His son and daughter-in-law live in Mumbai. His body was handed over to his elder brother in Ahmedabad.
