Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister spoke about the evolving global economic landscape, stating that India remains well-prepared to navigate future uncertainties. He expressed confidence that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country will remain resilient against global challenges.
Patel highlighted India’s rapid economic progress, noting that the nation is on track to become the world’s third-largest economy. He also emphasised Gujarat’s growing stature as a role model in the trade sector, driven by strong policy frameworks.
“Gujarat has emerged as a policy-driven state,” he said, adding that GCCI plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between industries and the state government by effectively communicating industry concerns.
The Chief Minister further pointed out the shift in India’s global image—from being viewed merely as a large market to now being recognised as a manufacturing hub. He also underscored Gujarat’s emergence as a potential semiconductor hub.
This year’s GATE 2026 Expo features emerging sectors such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and semiconductors, reflecting the state’s focus on future-ready industries. Discussions at the expo will also cover challenges related to upcoming international events, including the Commonwealth engagements planned in Gujarat.
Additionally, GCCI is working on a strategic roadmap aligned with the vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047,” aiming to contribute to India’s long-term development goals.
Despite ongoing global uncertainties, Patel reassured that the industrial sector is currently not facing significant challenges.
