In a warm and informal interaction at Mahund village, the Chief Minister sat on a traditional cot alongside villagers and held an open conversation, reflecting the simplicity of rural life. Addressing farmers and residents, he emphasized that natural farming is the most sustainable solution to safeguard both human health and soil fertility from the harmful effects of excessive chemical fertilizers.
Highlighting the importance of water conservation, the Chief Minister referred to the nationwide ‘Amrut Sarovar’ and ‘Khet Talavdi’ initiatives inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to tackle water scarcity and erratic rainfall. He announced that under the Sujalam Sufalam scheme, the government has expanded the eligible distance for filling village ponds from 3 kilometers to 7 kilometers, enabling greater water storage and conservation.
He also urged citizens to adopt environmentally responsible practices in their daily lives and contribute towards building a greener and more sustainable future.
During the interaction, progressive farmers practicing natural farming shared their success stories and firsthand experiences, encouraging fellow farmers to embrace chemical-free agriculture. They appreciated the continuous technical guidance provided by agricultural scientists and the proactive support extended by the state government’s agriculture officials in promoting sustainable farming practices.
