Gujarat Congress prepares for early Assembly Elections: Bharatsinh Solanki

Today in Ahmedabad, at GPCC office a meeting of Gujarat Congress Core Committee was steered by Gujarat Congress President Bharatsinh Solanki. Also Congress  senior leaders were present in the meeting.

While talking to media, Bharatsinh said that we are expecting that Assembly Elections 2017 would be held by May end on June early.

We in anticipation of early Assembly Elections has started working out our strategy of selecting nominees and related discussions. briefing on selection process President said that by 27th and 28th March we would seek opinion of district wise observers that we have appointment to closely monitor on work report of every candidate. In turn district observers have started collecting information on work done by each candidate. They will shortlist the nominees and update on work carried out by them in their territory. A panel of 4 members based a feedback from observer would help in selecting the nominees for Assembly elections.

Candidates who have lost in 2 consecutive terms with a margin would not be repeated, districtwise one lady nominee would be selected, young faces would have preference and contributions by NSUI, youth Congress and Women workers would be driving factor in selecting nominees. It will also be seen that there is no unjust to any candidate or worker. Though the selection process of candidate has been laid down since 2012 but this time we are taking pre-action for elections added Bharatsinh.

However, it was decided to retain tickets of sitting MLAs. Congress is intending to contest on 182 Assembly seats in Gujarat.

They will also hold Adivasi Yatra and try to reach masses.

In reaction to Gujarat Congress’s expectation of early elections, Gujarat Deputy CM Nitin Patel said that Congress is day dreaming of early elections but they will be held around December 2017.
