A delegation of eight persons with two officials from the Gujarat fisheries department, 3 members of the All Gujarat Fishermen Association (AGFA) and two boat mechanics will fly to Karachi on March 6 to inspect and mend Indian fishermen’s boats that Pakistani authorities have agreed to retur. Superintendent of fisheries at Veraval Pravin said that Pakistan High Commission in Delhi on Wednesday communicated that visas for the eight members would be issued on Thursday. There are 57 boats in good condition that the Pakistani authorities have agreed to hand over to India. He said that after the boats were ready, about 125 boat operators would be flown from Gujarat to Karachi to bring them back via the sea route.
