Today Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel led Gujarat government has announced a relief‐assistance package of around ₹10,000 crores for farmers affected by unseasonal rains. In addition, the government will procure crops such as groundnut, soybean, moong and urad at the Minimum Support Price (MSP), starting 9 November, with a total procurement value exceeding ₹15,000 crores.
The unseasonal rainfall caused damage over approximately 42 lakh hectares of farmland and impacted over 16,000 villages across the state. The state administration directed district officials to complete crop‐damage surveys within three days so that compensation could be processed swiftly.
