Gujarat government extended night curfew in 9 more cities to curb spread of Coronavirus

Today in wake of rising Coronavirus cases, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani took important decisions after an urgent meeting with Home Department regarding the guidelines of Ministry of Home Affairs of Government of India dated April 26.


Minister of State for Home Affairs Pradipsinh Jadeja, Chief Secretary Anil Mukim, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Pankaj Kumar, Director General of Police Ashish Bhatia, Principal Secretary of Health DepartmentSenior officials including Jayanti Ravi were present.


Night curfew was earlier imposed in 20 cities including 9 metros from 8 pm to 6 am. Besides, the state government has decided to impose restrictions in these 29 cities additionally. The state government has decided to enforce the night curfew in nine more cities — Himmatnagar, Navsari, Veraval, Valsad, Porbandar, Botad, Viramgam, Chhotaudepur and Palanpur — from April 28

State government announces additional restrictions in addition to night curfew in 8 cities of the state.

• Control will be from 28th April-2021 from Wednesday May 08, 2021 will be in force till Wednesday.

All essential services will continue in the above 29 cities during these restrictions. Grocery store, vegetable, fruit, medical store, milk parlor, bakery and food shops will remain open.

• All industries, manufacturing units, factories and construction activities will continue in these 29 cities as well. All these units have to strictly follow the SOP. All medical and paramedical services will remain open.

• All restaurants in 29 cities will be closed only take-away services can be continued.

Malls, shopping complexes, Gujri Bazaar, cinema halls, auditoriums, gyms, swimming pools, water parks, public gardens, salons, spas, beauty parlors and other amusement activities will be closed in all 29 cities.

All APMCs across the state will be closed. Only APMCs engaged in the sale of vegetables and fruits can be continued.

Public access to religious places across state will be closed only administrators and priests will be able to perform pooja.


Public bus transport will continue in entire state with 50% capacity.

As per rules, a maximum of 50 persons can be present at weddings across state and 20 persons can be present at funerals.
