On Wednesday, Gujarat Minister Nitin Patel stated that Gujarat CM is under process of implementing compulsory voting in the state. However, for immediate action during upcoming Nagar Palika and Panchayat elction around October elected members of Nagar Palika and Panchayat will have to mandatorily cast their vote else they will be removed from the party.
Bill on compulsory voting will be tabled in Assembly session in August.
