Today in Ahmedabad, a PIL Public Interest Litigation made in Gujarat High Court was turned down by the court. HC observed that application made to the court did not fall under the category of PIL. Anybody raising objectin could make PIL post elections.
PIL about deletion of voters name during voting on November 22, from the voters list in Municipal Corporation elections in first phase was made.
It was presented by State Election Commission to the court that during Muncipal Corporation elections 3,52,977 voters were added whereas 3,97,459 names were deleted with a difference of 44,482 voters.
In Nagar Palika elections 119343 names of voters were added and 100260 voters were deleted. In list of panchayat voters 463781 voters were added and 390884 voters were deleted.
