Gulberg society massacre: Quantum of punishment likely to be pronounced today

24 people were held guilty by a special court for killing 69 people. After the sentencing of 24 convicts in 2002 Gulberg society massacre case was delayed by a special court on June 6, it is expected that the verdict will be pronounced today.

Fourteen years after the 69 people living in the society were burnt alive including former Congress minister Ehsan Jaffery, the court had found 24 guilty in the case. Out of the 24 convicts, 11 were held guilty for murder and the rest for rioting, unlawful assembly and arson among other charges.
