Heavy rains lashed in entire Gujarat state, IMD India Meteorological Department has given a red alert in a few parts including Junagadh, Rajkot, Jamnagar, and Amreli. Rains in Junagadh have reached alarming levels, causing critical situations across the district, including populated areas such as Manavadar and Visavadar. Moreover, Banaskantha’s Lakhani received a staggering 8.3 inches of torrential rain between 6 am and 2 pm today. Heavy rains caused large-scale water logging in many markets and low-lying areas,. There were traffic jams at many places. In the monsoon season rainfall has been recorded in more than 157 talukas of the state during 6 am to 2 pm today. Weather agency IMD has issued a red alert in Navsari, Surat, and Valsad. In addition, an orange alert has also been issued in many parts of North Gujarat and Saurashtra.
