Heavy rainfall alert for next 48 hours in South Gujarat

Weather Agencies gave heavy rainfall alert for next 48 hours in South Gujarat.
In Valsad, 5.5 inch rain lashed in 5 hours. Umargaon received 5 inch rain in just 5 hours. Pardi had 4 inch of rain in 5 hours. GIDC Umargaon was flooded.

Water level in Sardar Sarovar Dam raised.

There is heavy rain forecasted in Valsad, Navsari,Dang, Tapi and in Surat districts of south Gujarat.

In Saurashtra, heavy rain is predicted in Amreli, Gir Somnath, Bhavnagar and Diu.

105 talukas of Gujarat moderate to heavy rain of the season.

In Valsad, low lying areas were water logged and rail traffic was affected with passengers stuck up in the trains for more than 5 hours. Nargol lake overflowed due to heavy rain in Valsad.

NDRF team at Surat has been kept on alert.

Kailash road underpass is water logged therefor movement between Chhipwad and Kailash road is stopped.

Traffic jam was seen between Surat to Mumbai owing to heavy rain. Lot of vehicles were lined up.

Gujarat government called Emergency Meeting of State Control Authorities.
