Heavy rains in Banaskantha; many highways closed

In an unabeted rain in Gujarat, Heavy rains lashed in Banaskantha district. In Amirgadh 10 inch, Bhabhar 4 inch, Danta 9 inch, Dantiwada 14 inch, Dhanera 9 inch, Diyodar 7 inch, Kankrej 5 inch and Palanpur received 10 inch of rain.  5 to 7 feet water logging in Dherara due to extremely heavy rain.  NDRF team rushed to the spot for rescue operations. 300 people from Tharad, 125 from Diyodar, 150 from Deesa rescued by NDRF and shifted to safe place. Sipu dam overflows. Nearby villages are put on alert. Dhanera city is water logged. 5 people were stranded in Alwada of Dantiwada.

Due to heavy rain Total 122 Roads closed in Gujarat including 1 National Highway in Banaskantha, 26 State Highways and 95 Panchayat Roads. Tharad-Deesa Highway closed as cause collapse. Cause way joining Titoda collapse.

Dantiwada dam has reached at 592 foot. Water from the dam has been released.

In Patan, due to heavy rain, 430 people have been rescued from Santalpur, Saraswati and Radhanpur area.

In Aravalli, 10 feet inch potholes, Ahmedabad to Udaipur highway washed away near Shamlaji.

In adverse weather condition, Indian Air force team rescues pregnant lady who gave birth to twins.
Travellers passing through Banaskantha are cautioned by administration.

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani may visit flood affected area, if gets clearance from weather agency to fly. Minister Shanker Chaudhary is closely watching the flood situation and rescue operations.
