Bardoli: Newly appointed BJP Kisan Morcha State President Hiren Hirpara formally assumed charge by offering floral tributes to the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at the historic Satyagraha Ashram in Bardoli. He took charge under the guidance of BJP Gujarat State President Jagdish Vishwakarma.
On the occasion, Hirpara expressed his resolve to work dedicatedly for the welfare of farmers under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, State BJP President Jagdish Vishwakarma, and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi.
According to a release issued by the BJP State Media Department, Hirpara reiterated his commitment to strengthen the ideology of farmer welfare and to implement programmes aimed at empowering farmers across Gujarat. He recalled the historic Bardoli Satyagraha of 1926, when farmers, under the leadership of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, launched an आंदोलन against the excessive taxes imposed by the British government. Following the farmers’ victory in that movement, Vallabhbhai Patel was bestowed with the title “Sardar”.
Hirpara highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP-led Central Government, and in Gujarat under Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, several farmer-centric decisions and agriculture-focused schemes have been implemented. He said the BJP Kisan Morcha will work to ensure that information about these schemes reaches farmers effectively, with the aim of making Gujarat’s farmers more prosperous and self-reliant.
Referring to the recent unseasonal rainfall in Gujarat, which caused significant losses to farmers, Hirpara thanked the state government for announcing a historic financial assistance package of ₹10,000 crore to compensate farmers and reduce their financial burden. He stated that in the coming days, under the guidance of State BJP President Jagdish Vishwakarma, the BJP Kisan Morcha will organise various programmes focused on safeguarding farmers’ interests across the state.
