Today India defeated West Indies by six wickets in first ODI One Day International out of their three-match series in Ahmedabad while playing 1000th ODI at Narendra Modi stadium.
West Indies elected to bat first. Chasing a target of 177, the hosts reached 178 for four in 28 overs. Skipper Rohit Sharma top-scored for his side with a knock of 60 runs off 51 balls. Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav smashed an unbeaten knock of 34 runs off 36 balls to wrap up the match for India. Alzarri Joseph was in decent bowling form for West Indies and clinched two wickets. Initially, the visitors were bowled out for 176 in 43.5 overs, wit Jason Holder slamming 57 runs off 71 balls.
Indian bowlers were in good form, Yuzvendra Chahal was in fantastic form and got four wickets. Washington Sundar registered three wickets and Prasidh Krishna bagged two.
