Junagadh Mayor and 6 others booked for Rs 30.75 lakhs scholarship scam
Today Junagadh Mayor Adhyashktiben Majumdar and 6 others were booked for Rs.30.75 lakhs scholarship scam in para medical college of Jeevandeep Trust. The complaint has been made by Scheduled Caste Board Deputy Director Chandravadan Mishra have lodged complaint against the Mayor and 6 other trustees.
The scam was exposed by RTI activist and Scheduled Caste Board had firstly collected the information through RTI and after 20 months of battle, complaint against accused have been made.
Accused will be charged for destroying evidence, encashing scholarship in the name of ghost student, criminal conspiracy under IPC sections 120 (b) and 420 for cheating.
Investigation in the case is done by DySP MS Rana. Action as per charges will be taken said DySP.
