In a significant boost to rural infrastructure and local governance in Gujarat, the newly constructed Gram Panchayat office at Khatraj village in Kalol taluka was inaugurated under the guidance of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah. The inauguration ceremony took place in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel along with several distinguished dignitaries and local leaders.

The project was completed with the collaboration and support of the Arvind Foundation, reflecting the growing role of public-private cooperation in strengthening village-level infrastructure and governance.
The inauguration forms part of a broader development initiative across the Gandhinagar parliamentary constituency, where multiple civic and rural development projects are being launched to improve ease of living and modernize village infrastructure. Reports noted that Khatraj also witnessed lake beautification works undertaken by the Arvind Foundation alongside the new Gram Panchayat office inauguration.
The new Gram Panchayat office is expected to enhance administrative efficiency and provide villagers easier access to government services at the local level. The development aligns with Gujarat’s larger rural modernization vision under the Mukhyamantri Gramotthan Yojana, which aims to provide urban-equivalent facilities in villages, including better governance infrastructure, sanitation, roads, digital services, and community amenities.
Addressing several development gatherings across Gujarat in recent months, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has repeatedly emphasized strengthening grassroots governance and ensuring that every village has access to modern civic infrastructure.
The inauguration ceremony at Khatraj highlighted the Gujarat government’s continued focus on rural transformation, transparent governance, and community-centric development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Amit Shah.
