A worker felicitation ceremony of Kheda district was held today in the special presence of Gujarat BJP State President Shri Jagdishbhai Vishwakarma. Addressing the gathering after paying homage to Veer Bhatiji Maharaj and offering prayers at Ranchhodray Temple in Dakor, Shri Jagdishbhai Vishwakarma said that Kheda is the land of spirituality and valour. Several prominent personalities have emerged from this district.

Recalling the contribution of Kheda in India’s freedom struggle, he said that inspired by the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and many other freedom fighters led strong movements against British rule from this very land. After Independence, the Mahagujarat Movement, led by Indulal Yagnik, ignited a sense of patriotism and duty among the youth.

Shri Vishwakarma stated that the Kheda Satyagraha of 1918, led by Sardar Patel, stands as a symbol of unity and resilience. He emphasized that India’s cooperative movement began from Kheda, which later became a model for the entire nation.
He highlighted that the world-famous brand Amul was established in Kheda district. What began with just 10 individuals has today grown into a massive banyan tree, empowering lakhs of dairy farmers and strengthening rural economies. The aim of the cooperative movement was to ensure that farmers, cattle-rearers, villages, talukas, and districts become economically strong so that the state and nation become prosperous.
He further stated that the dream of Sardar Patel, which was not fulfilled during Congress rule, has now taken shape in the last 75 years of Independence. A separate Ministry of Cooperation has been formed by the Central Government, and the leadership of this historic initiative has been entrusted to Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah.
Under the leadership of the Central Government and the Government of Gujarat led by Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, several important steps have been taken to bring a positive revolution in the cooperative sector. Shri Amit Shah has also laid the foundation for Tribhovandas University, making higher studies in the cooperative sector possible for the youth of the country.
Shri Vishwakarma mentioned that today even the farmers of Surendranagar and Kutch say that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is like a God to them, because of the support and welfare schemes extended to the agricultural community.
He also quoted Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s message: “It is necessary to teach the next generation not only how the country gained freedom, but also how we became slaves in the first place.”
