Today morning at 6:30 am in Ahmedabad at Rawlley Stadium, a Mini marathon organised by Ahmedabad Cantonment Board was held at Cantonment area. The objective of marathon is to instil patriotism and send message of clean India to people. Banners of Republic Run 2016 were displayed at the stadium.
Also in Rajkot half marathon was organised in which as many as 30-50,000 citizens participated in five categories of Rajkot Run including a category of half-marathon today morning. This was first such marathon organized by Rajkot Municipal Corporation. Rajkot Municipal Commissioner Nehra also participated and completed the run.
Every year around Republic day Marathon Run is organised in different cities including Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Rajkot.
