In the scorching heat and temperatures going around 45°C, netizens of Gujarat are praying for arrival of monsoon season. According to IMD Indian Meteorological Department start of monsoon is likely to reach the state 2 days ahead of its schedule. Rains are expected in parts of South Gujarat by this week. Monsoon is expected to start between June 13 and 15 in the state. Weather agency has predicted that people will get partial relief from heat in the next 2 to 3 days, as winds are expected to blow at a speed of 25 kms an hour. Also thunderstorms are likely in Saurashtra, North Gujarat, and Kutch. Pre-monsoon activities will also start by June 7, and the monsoon will commence across Gujarat by June 15. Scattered rains may lash in the state before begining of pre-monsoon activities. However, hot weather will prevail in some parts along with strong winds for next 4 to 5 days. Wind speed is expected to be more in Kutch and Saurashtra.Heat and humidity will gradually decrease during this period. According to IMD forecast, monsoon will remain normal this season. In India monsoon arrived on May 30, with Kerala and northeastern states receiving initial spell of rains.
