Gujarat High Court has given an important verdict in case of Surat’s hiprofile Rs 5400 crores hawala scam case. Accused Hawala operator Afroz Fatta has been granted relief by state High Court. The High Court has rejected Gujarat government’s plea.
HC has admitted that Afroz Fatta has no role in Rs 5,400 crores hawala scam. The allegations, including false documents, did not materialize. Gujarat High Court upheld Surat sessions court’s order acquitting Afroz. State Government’s appeal challenging the sessions court’s order has been rejected by high court. A complaint was registered against Afroz Fatta under PMLA Act on issue of Multi crore hawala scam.
