World Wetlands Day is celebrated internationally each year on 2 February. In Gujarat, at Nal Sarovar lake World Wetlands Day was celebrated in Ahmedabad district.
Nal Sarovar Bird Sanctuary, consisting primarily of a huge lake and ambient marshes, is situated about 64 km to the West of Ahmedabad near Sanand Village.Gujarat has some outstanding places for viewing birds of the wetlands. Every year migratory birds come to Nal Sarovar. It is a very popular tourist attraction among people of Gujarat, foreigners and NRIs.
Gujarat state ministers Mangubhai Patel and Bachbhai Khabad attended it. Environmentalists, Bird watchers and nature lovers were present at the occasion.
